Hey everyone! We’re back, after our overwhelmingly successful Tales of Xillia Countdown last year! Tales of Xillia 2, the upcoming 14th mothership title in Namco Bandai’s ‘Tales of’ RPG series, and direct sequel to Tales of Xillia, is slated for release on November 1st, 2012 in Japan. This time, Daisuke Okumura designed the main character!

Tales of Xillia 2 Announced
At today’s Tales of Festival event, series producer Hideo Baba officially confirmed the new game to be Tales of Xillia 2.
The sequel, in development for PS3 for release in Winter 2012, will take place one year after the original. You’ll once again be able to select between two main characters, one male and one female. Ayumi Hamasaki will once again do the theme song honors.

Tales of Xillia 2 Follow-Up
Set one year after the events of Tales of Xillia on the planet Elenpios, the game stars hero Ludgar Will Crusnick (CV: Takashi Kondou) and 8-year-old heroine Elle Mel Marta (CV: Mariya Ise), who has a pet cat named Lulu. Daigo Okumura is character designer, and Ufotable is once again on animation.
The story features player decisions with branching cutscenes. Like Xillia, the sequel’s characters are built to realistic proportions. The game’s battle system makes use of a new “Weapon Shift” system, allowing Ludgar to change weapons mid-combat – from twin guns to a two-handed hammer or twin swords. A final release date will be announced on June 27.
